There are various types of braces available today. This helps ensure that we can find the treatment that is right for you. The three most common types of braces are:
Metal Braces — This is the most common type of braces. Metal braces are made of high-grade stainless steel, and thanks to advances in technology and materials, they are now smaller, more comfortable and more attractive than ever before.
Gold Braces — Why not make a fashion statement while you strengthen your smile. These are essentially the same as traditional metal braces except that the components, which are made out of stainless steel are plated with gold. Because of this plating, you can expect the cost to be higher than that of regular braces.
Ceramic (Clear) Braces — Ceramic braces are made of a translucent material that is virtually clear. This makes them popular among our patients, especially adults, who are interested in maintaining a more natural-looking aesthetic during treatment. The drawback to ceramic braces, however, is that they are more fragile, and the elastic ties may become discolored between visits to our office.
Lingual Braces — These braces function in the same way as traditional braces, however our orthodontist will place them on the backs of your teeth rather than the fronts. In addition to being invisible to other people, they are extremely efficient at correcting the alignment of your smile.
During your initial visit with our team, we will help you determine which type of braces would best meet your personal needs and preferences. For more information and to schedule your consultation, call us today.
